Burning Old Leaves

Burning Old Leaves

Today I’m outside having a full moon fire.

Good morning! Today I’m outside having a full moon fire. Burning out some old brush in a pile of wood waiting from when we took the greenhouse down. It’s a good time to burn it. It was nice and cool this morning. I even wore Mamaw‘s jacket. I’m burning my last piece for the day. I’ve reduced the pile size by 2/3. Pretty good for one morning alone. I also enjoyed taking some beautiful photographs this morning at sunrise. Be on the lookout for more of them over at the Plants and Poetry Facebook page.

Have you heard about The Oasis? It’s our land.

I stewardess apple tree, blackberry, pear tree, rose of Sharon, marjoram, lavender, tarragon, rosemary, oregano, spearmint, classic mint, curry, Stevia, French lavender, thyme, lemon thyme, spinach, dandelion greens, green onion, chives, garlic, cucumbers, tomatoes, cantaloupe, marigolds, petunias, okra, irises, Gladiolas, phlox, Sedum, geranium, basil, strawberries, morning glories, sunflower, blueberries, peach trees, raspberries, muscadine, redbud trees, oak trees, perilla, lemon balm, and bee balm.

I’m looking for reliable volunteers who want to come be on the land in the morning hours. 6:30-9:00. If you are interested or know anyone in the area who may be, please let them know.

I have some visions here and am building a team of people who want to actively participate & support The development of The Oasis. The goal is to grow food for our community. Those around us, close to us. So if anyone around us or close to us wants to come, send me a message on FB, and we can set something up!

Thank you.

Sun is peeking overhead. It has moved about 8 feet since I started writing this post.

I ended up throwing one more piece of wood on. It’s heating up & the produce is growing. Everyone is watered and happy. And the sunflowers are in bloom.

Hope you have a great summer day!
