Poetry Competition

Submissions open: April 16th - May 2nd, 2023

This is a poetry competition inspired by the collection of poems "Talking With Trees" by Lucia Coppola. The theme of the contest is...what does "Talking With Trees" mean to you?

Talking With Trees is about how nature speaks to the imagination. It's the story of a magical journey into the garden and the extraordinary adventure of ordinary things.

We invite you to take a moment to reflect on the significance of nature in your life and how it has inspired your poetic expression. Whether it's a moment with a tree or a moment of stillness in nature that has moved you, we want to hear about it. This is a chance to connect with nature and express your thoughts and feelings through the beauty of poetry.

The winner of this competition will receive a copy of "Talking With Trees" by Lucia Coppola, a blank journal from Plants & Poetry, and a feature on Plants & Poetry website. The runner-up will also be featured on our website.

To enter the competition, submit a poem in a Word document of no more than 1-2 pages that reflects on the theme of "Talking With Trees."

We can't wait to read your beautiful poetry and share in the magic of nature and words!

Open to poets of all levels, ages, and backgrounds. Submissions will be accepted in English, and we welcome poets from all around the world to share their work. Poems generated through Ai will not be permitted.
